Complex, dynamic, adaptive natural swarm systems, their distributed form of intelligence, the information flows and self-regulating feedback loops in such systems, but also the diversity and distributions within such systems.
Bioinspired and biomimetic algorithms/technology that stems from these studies. Physical interaction between natural organisms and artificial entities (robots, agents) and their impact onto ecological systems. Understanding ecological systems through modelling them mathematically with approaches from system sciences and complexity science.
