OpMoSi: pioneering battery technologies

For the first time, a purely Styrian consortium is researching significant improvements to lithium-ion batteries. For the “OpMoSi” project, four key players from the domestic industrial and research landscape have joined forces. The constellation results in a unique bundling of competences in the field of research and development of batteries in Austria. The ambitious project goal is to increase the energy density of cells by 20 to 30 percent at 1,000 charges.

For the “OpMoSi” project, four domestic players have joined forces to advance the further development of lithium-ion technology. The consortium is coordinated by Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH. The research centre is working in close cooperation with Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbH, Varta Innovation GmbH and AVL List GmbH.
