28 Apr NewControl – Final Event in Graz

29. – 30. of March, 2023
At the final meeting of NewControl, VIRTUAL VEHICLE demonstrated its Fail Operational Urban Parking Use Case on its own demonstrator and took the opportunity to present the developed innovations together with the project partners and the project coordinator AVL after four project years.
A total of 50 participants were on site at the Steirerhof in Graz to see the final NewControl project results for themselves. VIRTUAL VEHICLE presented the results of Supply Chain 3 “Virtual platforms for holistic decision making and control”.
VIRTUAL VEHICLE’s internally developed software representation of the demonstrator in the form of a simulation platform enabled simple, seamless integration and execution of the automated driving behaviour on the real vehicle.

The project
The funded research project NewControl develops and delivers virtual platforms for vehicle subsystems for automated operation according to SAE Level 3+. These platforms consider a static environment and enable an adaptive, fail operational control concept as well as collision-free automated parking.
A total of 42 partners from 12 countries, including partners from the semiconductor and automotive value chain, jointly developed demonstrators to show the project’s potential to promote user acceptance of the next generation of highly automated vehicles.
Project period: April 2019 – March 2023
Project duration: 48 months
