Functional Safety Engineer for Automated Driving (m/w)

Before Automated Driving (AD) vehicles can go into mass production and enter the market, it has to be shown that they do not put anyone at unreasonable risk. For this reason appropriate safety measures have to be defined, which protect not only the driver or passengers in the car, but also other traffic participants like pedestrians and other vehicles.

An increasing automation level also increases the responsibility of the vehicle regarding functional safety, which requires fail-operational systems relying on novel safety measures and improved electric/electronic (E/E) architectures.

Your duties and responsibilities

  • Support AD function development by
    • Applying safety analysis methods and definition of safety measures
    • Developing novel fail-operational E/E architectures
    • Defining methods and tools ensuring ISO PAS 21448 (SOTIF)
  • Documentation of produced results according to project specific needs

What we expect from you:

  • Completed technical study (e.g. Telematics, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, …)
  • Development experience accroding to ISO 26262
  • Self motiviated and strategic interest in AD research projects
  • Analytic thinking and independent and conscientious way of working
  • Profound englisch skills in spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel

The yearly gross salary for this position is minimum EUR 44.800,-  An overpayment is possible and depends on skills and experiences. (Senior Researcher Position)
