Infineon & VIRTUAL VEHICLE @ForumAlpbach
At this year’s “Technologiegespräche” in Alpbach from 24th to 26th August 2018, VIRTUAL VEHICLE and Infineon will be presenting a radar / lidar demonstrator and innovative 3D imager for the vehicle environment at the booth of AC-Styria.
Automated driving is one of the most important drivers of innovation in the automotive industry. The research topics at VIRTUAL VEHICLE are covering the development, validation, testing and operation of fail-safe automated driving architectures and ensures the safe coexistence of highly automated vehicles with conventional vehicles in road traffic.
Both industry and buyers expect numerous benefits from new, automated powertrain technologies such as improved vehicle and road safety, reduced congestion, lower emissions and better road use through optimal integration of individual and public transport. The main challenges to be solved are the reliable, highly redundant and fail-safe 360° environmental awareness. Infineon’s latest sensor technology is tested in conjunction with the VIRTUAL VEHICLE Automated Drive Demonstrator, a research vehicle for automated driving that is unique in Austria.
