Research project DEWI nominated for the Austrian “Staatspreis Mobilität”
For three years (2014 - 2017) VIRTUAL VEHICLE coordinated the European large-scale project DEWI. The goal was to strengthen Europe's leading position in embedded systems and the Internet of Things, particularly in the area of mobility. Now, the successful project has been nominated for this year's “Staatspreis Mobilität” (national prize in the area of mobility), which is awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology.
Under the leadership of VIRTUAL VEHICLE, 58 European industry and research partners from 11 countries collaborated in the project DEWI ("Dependable Embedded Wireless Infrastructure"). The objective was to provide reliable, intelligent and networked solutions in the fields of automotive, railway and aeronautics as well as building technology.
Due to the great project success with numerous groundbreaking results and demonstrators, DEWI has now been nominated for one of the three finalists in the category "Research. Develop. New perspectives.", by the international jury of the Austrian “Staatspreis Mobilität”. We are greatly looking forward to the forthcoming award ceremony on November 27, 2017 and congratulate the entire project team!
